The commissioner for sports and youths development, Mr Dotun Owanikin has debunked allegations by the former Sunshine Queens Team Manager,Mojisola Adekanye who resigned this week as untrue.
Adekanye in her resignation letter cited conspiracy and other inhuman acts by the head coach, Wemimo Mathew as reasons she tendered her resignation letter.
“It’s time to leave when the ovation is loud to an extent, what I witnessed, experienced and felt as a result of huge conspiracy was shocking, but humans will always act as humans”
Owanikin in an interview with ROVING REPORTERS on Tuesday however claimed he was not aware of any conspiracy against Adekanye, saying the former Team
Manager resigned voluntarily.
He said “the information is not correct. If she has issues and it got to a point that she is resigning voluntarily, she should have taken the issue up officially.
I am of the opinion that the Resignation was voluntary. I don’t think it has to do with anyone frustrating anybody.
If there’s crisis ,it would have got to my table. If you ask her ,she would tell you that no matter of such was brought to my notice.
I think she wanted to leave.Now that she had left, we will advertise the position and get replacement. ”
