Immediate past Majority leader, Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon Olugbenga Araoyinbo has called on Stakeholders in the Obaship tussle for Onirun title in irun akoko, ondo state to follow due process and avoid utterances capable of creating unrest in the town.
Araoyinbo made the appeal while reacting to the Tuesday protest by irun chiefs over selection of new onirun.
Araoyinbo condemned frivolous attack on the person of Chief Segun Ajiboye who is one of the Kingmakers.
The former lawmaker noted that the issue of Obaship had been on ground before the emergence of Chief Ajiboye as the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
“Attack on the CPS to the governor is uncalled for, the stool of Onirun had been vacant since 2011 and Ajiboye came on board barely three years ago”.
“How can some people be insinuating that he (Ajiboye) wants to disrupt the process of the selection”.
He appealed to all concerned natives of Irun-Akoko to exercise patience and allow tradition to take its course in the selection process.
Hon Araoyinbo emphasised that Irun-Akoko needed Oba now and efforts towards this should not be truncated.
He called on the aggrieved youths to be law abiding and allow a peaceful transition after waiting this long.
Hon Araoyinbo pleaded with the State government to allow due process and let the people’s will be manifested.
