Ondo Information Commissioner Rates Radio Nigeria As Top Media Outfit

The Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon Donald Ojogo on Friday said the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria,FRCN remains number-one and largest radio outfit in Nigeria despite stiff competition in the industry.

Ojogo stated this when he visited the Management of Positive FM at the Broadcasting House, Information Village, Ondo Road,Akure.

The Commissioner also expressed satisfaction with professional conducts of Radio Nigeria Positive 102.5 FM, Akure over the years in the state.

He pointed out that maintaining the standard of professionalism was a difficult task at the moment with the increasing number of radio stations in Ondo state .

The Information Commissioner, however said Positive FM as one of the stations on the stable of FRCN, had been competing very well in the State while Radio Nigeria as a corporation still maintains its number one position.

He said “I can tell you authoritatively that despite competition in the media industry where radio stations are being established everyday, Radio Nigeria still number one.

Let me also commend you for your professionalism in doing your job.

I want to commend this station (Positive FM) for reporting activities of the Ondo state government over the years, we are here to solicit more support for the administration of Arakunrin (Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu), by reporting and informing our people about giant strides of our administration in the state.”

Responding, the General Manager of Positive FM, Mr Tunde Abiodun who described Ojogo as a media professional to the core, commended him for starting on a very good note by making himself accessible.

Abiodun pledged continuous partnership of FRCN with the state Ministry of Information for enhanced coverage and reportage of the state government’s activities.
