IGODAN LISA STOOL IS VACANT, SAYS ODSG.

Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN has warned those parading themselves as Olu of Igodan Lisa to stop forth with or face the wrath of the law.

The Governor who spoke through his Deputy, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa gave the warning following allegations that someone was parading himself as the new monarch of the community.

Aiyedatiwa made this declaration at an enlarged stakeholders meeting he held with all the kingmakers, youths and Igodan Lisa Development Association held at Cocoa Conference Hall, Governor’s Office Alagbaka Akure on Wednesday.

“What has been happening in Igodan Lisa community in the last two weeks was self desired which is null and void” , declared Aiyedatiwa.

“And henceforth, nobody should parade himself as Olu of Igodan Lisa…as it stands today, Igodan Lisa stool is vacant”, he said.

The Deputy Governor said, the State would continue to ensure neutrality in the selection process of monarch in the State, urging all the kingmakers present at the meeting on the need to make truth their watchword.

“This is the tradition, let’s be truthful on the kingship process for peace to reign in Igodan Lisa” , he appealed.

“And very soon, the kingship process in the community will commence, and in due course, Okitipupa Local Government will get back to the kingmakers on the way forward”, he assured.

Responding, the Lisa of Igodan Lisa, High Chief Zachaeus Ayeobasan expressed delight at government position on the matter, saying the meeting was a reassuring demonstration of government’s neutrality on the vacant stool.

Present at the meeting with the Deputy Governor are, Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Akogun Akinwunmi Sowore, House of Assembly member representing Okitipupa Constituency 2 who is also a native of the community, Hon Olalade Gbegudu, Executive Chairman, Okitipupa Local Government, Hon Igbekele Akinrinwa, Permanent Secretary, Local Government Service Commission, Chief Segun Odusanya, Press Secretary to Governor ( Office of Deputy Governor ) Kenneth Odusola-Stevenson, Special Assistant to Governor on New Media, Ladi Okunniga, Special Assistant to Governor ( Office of Deputy Governor ) , Comrade Segun Iwalokun and others.
