Traditional Security system has been advocated as means of curbing incessant insecurity in the country.
A Security Expert and Retired Naval Chief, Rear Admiral Oladele Daji made the submission at a stakeholders meeting of Afo, Idoani, Idogun and Imeri held at Oba Olutoye Hall, Alaani’s Palace, Idoani.
Admiral Daji described the current Security situation in the country as a physical threat to the citizens existence individually and collectively.
He commended the spirited efforts of the South-West Security Network, codenamed Amotekun at rising to situations when the need arises and how it had suppressed the effontries of the attackers.
Admiral Daji charged parents to train their children as curbing insecurity starts from the homefront while also calling on community leaders to ensure strangers and strange movement are reported to appropriate authorities for prompt action.
“It is necessary to say something when you see something, so as to make the society safe”.
“Parents should watch their children and wards in order to disallow loopholes from within the communities “.
The Security Expert urged government at all levels to support Security agencies in the state with necessary facilities for quick response to challenges.
In a goodwill message to the summit, the convener, Dr Bode Olajumoke represented by the Asiwaju of Idoani, Otunba Olapeju lauded the communal efforts of the Ireakari communities towards ensuring safety in the area.
The summit was attended by Alaani of Idoani, Oba Olufemi Olutoye, Onimeri of Imeri, Oba Babatunde Adeniran, Onidogun of Idogun, Oba Moses Bakare other community leaders and indigenes of the ireakari communities from all walks of life.
