Sonibare In Police Net For Impersonating As SDP Chairman

Chief Supo Shonibare has been detained by the Police for imposing himself as the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

He was arrested alongside Sir Patrick Anethua and l detained at the FCT Police Command, Garki Abuja around 11 am on Wednesday.

He is still being held down as at 4pm today with media houses including AIT, CHANNELS, NTA and others at the FCT Police command.

They were arrested at the Merit House, Abuja where the accused person and some other co-accused purported to be holding meetings as National Executives of the Social Democratic Party without any recognition as such by INEC and other legal authorities.

This is after the party in a statement earlier, disowned him as the Chairman.

Sonibare is accused of attempting to be selling nomination forms to would-be aspirants.

The accused has been marketing himself to the National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress in the event of the latter being dissatisfied with the outcome of the Presidential Primaries of the APC.

Meanwhile, the lawful National Executives of the SDP had concluded state congresses and gotten approval of INEC to conduct it’s presidential, national and state primaries across the country.
