The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Ondo State Command, says it has arrested a total of 124 suspects in the last twelve months.
The State Commandant of NSCDC, Hammed Abodunrin, gave the figure while presenting the command’s scorecard for last year to Journalists in Akure, Ondo State.
The Ondo state commandant of NSCDC, Hammed Abodunrin, said a total of 284,540 litres of petroleum products were recovered at different locations in the state in 2021.
He said the command also impounded nine trucks with four wooden boats in the coastal area of the state.
He disclosed that 124 suspects were arrested by the Intelligence and Investigation Department of the corps, with 20 of the cases pending in court.
The ondo state NSCDC boss added that in 2021, the command’s Anti-Human Trafficking and Irregular Migration and Gender Unit handled 185 cases with 140 arrest made.
The commandant also advised the public to continue to give useful information to the command to perform effectively.
He attributed the successes recorded by the command in the year under review to the synergy with other security agencies and promised to sustain it
