The new AIG Zone 17 comprising ondo and Ekiti states, Etim Ene Okon has promised to sustain the peace existing in Ondo and Ekiti states.
AIG Okon gave the assurance when he assumed duty on Monday in Akure the Ondo state capital.
AIG, Etim Ene Okon who expressed delight meeting the Ondo and Ekiti state police commissioners and other senior officers said he was posted to the zone to work and add value to the successes recorded so far, He assured residents and business owners in the state of their safety He urged officers to be alive to their responsibity as he has zero tolerance for laziness and corruption.
AIG Okon said he will do his best to improve on the welfare of officers and men and provide the enabling and conducive environment for efficiency.
The AIG disclosed that proactive strategies are already in place to curtail conflicts, kidnapping and other crimes in state.
He also used the occasion to explain that arrest have been made in connection with the recent killing of Ondo Indigenes in Jos and appealed to residents of the state to avoid any form of reprisal attacks in the state.
